How to get help

From Spring 2018, Bedford Borough Council will be changing its Housing Options Service. Basically, there will no longer be a drop-in service at the Customer Service Centre as approaches will be received through the phone number (01234 718058) or via their website.

The duty to accept a person’s request for assistance immediately still remains though, so if someone is homeless there and then they can still approach in person during office hours or ring the emergency duty team to approach for assistance out of office hours (0300 300 8123).

And remember, if there is reason to believe a person may be homeless, may be eligible, and may be in priority need, the council shall make temporary accommodation available immediately until the inquiries have been completed and a written decision is issued.
